The street lamps of Passeig de Lluís Companys, created in 1905 by architect Pere Falquès, line the axis linking the Arc de Triomf with Ciutadella Park. These eleven lampposts combine stone and wrought iron, elegantly blending functionality with urban design. Their stone base incorporates four benches, while the iron structure rises into symmetrical arms decorated with vegetal motifs. Halfway between the more solid classicism and the lighter modernism of Passeig de Gràcia, these lamps embody the ambition to transform public lighting into true urban furniture. They highlight the central axis while structuring the side paths, turning the Passeig into a grand open-air salon, a place for strolling and meeting in early 20th-century Barcelona.
