Sculpture Pomona

Created in 1928 by Enric Monjo i Garriga, this bronze sculpture depicts Pomona, the Roman goddess of fruits and protector of crops. She is shown with a garland over her shoulder and dressed in a veil so thin that it reveals the nudity of her body. The work, inspired by noucentisme, moves away from monumental classicism to embrace a more decorative and expressive style, reflecting the prosperity of Catalonia during the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera.
