Girafa Coqueta

The Girafa Coqueta (Flirty Giraffe) is a bronze sculpture created by Josep Granyer Giralt and inaugurated in 1972 at the intersection of Rambla de Catalunya and Avinguda Diagonal. It forms a pair with the Brau Meditant (Meditative Bull), located at the opposite end of the Rambla. Both works portray, with humor and irony, animals adopting impossible human-like poses, a hallmark of Granyer’s poetic and satirical style. The sculptures were commissioned by the Rambla de Catalunya Merchants’ Association, which sought to bring an artistic and whimsical touch to the avenue.
