Located in Plaça de Catalunya in Barcelona, this monumental noucentista-style fountain was created in 1926 by the artist Jaume Otero Camps. It features a cascading structure with three superimposed basins, topped by a jet of water emerging from a large shell held by two fish. The shell is set within a stone wall decorated with bronze figures: two putti carrying a basket of fruit, and four others below holding garlands. As the first monumental work installed in the square, it embodies the refined idealism and softness characteristic of Otero’s art.
