Porxos d'en Xifré. Relleus

The Porxos d’en Xifré, located at 8–16 Passeig d’Isabel II, are an emblematic 19th-century complex whose sculptural decoration was created between 1837 and 1840. Designed by sculptor Damià Campeny, the terracotta reliefs and medallions were executed with the help of his students Ramon Pedró and Domènec Talarn. Campeny was responsible for the overall design and main reliefs, while Pedró crafted the more detailed putti (cherubs) and Talarn created the medallions adorning the upper arches. Listed as a Local Cultural Heritage Site (BCIL), the ensemble stands out for its rich neoclassical ornamentation and its importance in Barcelona’s artistic heritage.
